Course Description


Teaching in a clinical setting is often demanding and complex. A clinical teacher often has to take on many roles simultaneously, acting as a teacher, medical expert, and leader. This course, facilitated by Dr. Josee Paradis, is based on Stanford Medicine's Clinical Teaching Program. The course is designed to: enhance participants' versatility as teachers; enhance their ability to analyze clinical teaching using an educational framework; and, provide a forum for collegial exchange. The workshop focuses on the topics of learning climate, assessment, and feedback in a clinical setting.

What You Will Learn

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Reflect on their own teaching and learning strategies
• Analyze clinical teaching and learning in their practice environment
• Apply teaching behaviours that support learner development in a clinical setting
