Course Description
Strongly articulated learning objectives provide the foundation for effective instruction, assessment and evaluation. They are the upfront ‘workhorse’ of any effective curriculum. Bring your laptop, a class or course outline. Be prepared to join your medical education colleagues drafting powerful learning objectives.
This workshop is open to all instructors of Schulich medical education programs
Participants are asked to bring a laptop and a course syllabus or lesson plan (past, current or prospective).
What You Will Learn
In this workshop, faculty members will work together to• Identify the essential components of effective learning objectives
• Compare learning objectives written for the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains
• Apply a learning taxonomy to classify learning objectives
• Write at least one clear learning objective for use in an upcoming lesson or course
