Course Description

You are an accomplished and committed physician who is considering or have been appointed to a leadership role within your healthcare organization or practice group.  As a physician leader, you are now expected to understand and apply management concepts (designing, implementing and, managing program or services) in your new role that are not taught in medical school or your postgraduate training.

Learn about these management concepts for the physician leaders, and those who aspire to lead in Management Principles for Physicians: Using Simulation Modeling to Enhanced Resource Utilization in a Healthcare Environment.

Using Simulation Modeling to Enhance Resource Utilization in a Healthcare Environment:

This year's curriculum will be focused on harnessing the power of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) to optimize service delivery and/or capacity planning, and how DES implementation can help achieve desired strategic change.  This online course will be facilitated by business school faculty with expertise in Health Care Operational management and leadership strategy in healthcare organizations.

In Management Principles for Physicians, you will learn how these management concepts can help you, the physician leader, or those who aspire to lead.

This joint offering from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and the Ivey School of Business, will provide the participant with practical ways to incorporate managerial concepts into enhancing healthcare delivery. This course presumes no prior exposure to business management concepts.
